Privacy Policy
Pie Chart Generator is run by Ryan Doyle, an independent developer in Florida, United States. There is no account system, no advertising and nothing here is sold to anyone. This page lists every place your information can end up.
Your chart data never leaves your browser
Labels, values, titles, colors and every export are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The numbers you type are not uploaded, not stored on a server and not visible to me. If you use the share link feature, your chart is encoded into the URL itself, so anyone you send that link to can read it. Do not share a link containing data you want kept private.
What is collected automatically
Simple Analytics. A privacy-focused analytics service that counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. It records the page visited, the referring site, and coarse country-level location.
WhyUsersLeave. A user experience tool that records how visitors move through the pages so broken or confusing parts of the site can be found and fixed.
First-party usage events. The app logs anonymous product events to a Supabase database, for example a page view, a chart created, an export, or an upgrade button click. Each event is tagged with a random identifier stored in your browser's local storage, and the session record includes your browser user agent string, screen size, time zone and referring page. This identifier is not tied to a name or an email and cannot be traced back to you. Clearing your browser storage resets it.
What is collected only when you hand it over
Your email address. If you type it into a signup box on the site, it is stored in a Supabase table along with which box you used, so I can email you about the tool. Every email includes an unsubscribe option, or you can ask me to delete it directly.
Purchase details. The one-time $7.99 Pro unlock is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and I never see or store your card number. After a successful payment, your email address and the Stripe checkout session id are stored so Pro can be reactivated on a new browser or device. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what they hold.
Local storage on your device
The site keeps a few values in your browser's local storage: your anonymous analytics identifier, your Pro unlock status, your palette unlock status and your theme preference. These live on your machine, not on a server, and clearing site data removes them.
Who else touches your information
Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard server request logs. Supabase stores the events, emails and purchase records described above. Stripe processes payments. Simple Analytics and WhyUsersLeave process usage data. That is the complete list. Nothing is sold, rented or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
How long things are kept
Usage events are kept while they are useful for improving the tool. Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to honor reactivation and refunds, and to satisfy tax record keeping.
Your choices
Email rpdoyle1@gmail.com and ask for a copy of anything associated with your email address, or ask for it to be deleted, and it will be handled. Because usage events are anonymous, they cannot be located by name, but clearing your browser storage stops them being linked together going forward. Browser do-not-track and content blockers work normally here, and the site functions with the analytics scripts blocked.
Children
The tool is often used for school assignments, but it is not directed at children under 13 and no account or personal detail is ever required to use it. If you believe a child has sent an email address through the site, write to me and it will be removed.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Questions go to rpdoyle1@gmail.com.
