A fraction pie chart shades part of a circle: the bottom number of the fraction is how many equal sections the circle has, and the top number is how many are shaded. Type a fraction below to see it as a circle, with its decimal, percent and angle.
From our own data: charts with 2, 3 or 4 slices, the sizes of halves, thirds and quarters, were 49.2% of the 13,058 charts downloaded here from January 29 to August 18, 2026.
Up to 24 sections. The page starts with 3/8: 3 of 8 sections, 0.375, 37.5%, 135°.
Every fraction here is drawn on a circle of the same size, so you can compare them by eye.

Decimals round to three places, and percents and angles to one place.

Fractions with the same denominator add by their shaded sections. On a circle cut into fourths, 1/4 + 1/2 uses the same sections as 1/4 + 2/4, and the total is 3 shaded sections, or 3/4. When the denominators differ, redraw both circles with the same number of sections first.

A fraction pie chart works for one fraction of one whole, or a few fractions that add to 1. It is the picture most fraction lessons use because the circle makes the whole obvious. To compare many fractions at once, a bar of equal length for each fraction reads faster; the pie chart vs bar chart guide explains when each works.
To chart real data instead of one fraction, type your categories and numbers into the percentage pie chart maker, or use the circle graph maker to see each slice's angle, and print a blank circle from the pie chart templates.
