If you use Meta-Chart for pie charts and want no ads, an SVG download or a donut chart, Pie Chart Generator does those for free with no sign-up. Meta-Chart still makes more chart types (12 to our 4). Both tools put a small credit on free downloads.
By Ryan Doyle, who built Pie Chart Generator. Updated September 29, 2026.
We make Pie Chart Generator, so we are one side of this comparison. How we compared: on September 29, 2026 we read Meta-Chart's own pages and the code behind its pie chart maker, and checked our own code the same day. The table links each Meta-Chart fact to where we found it, and the sources at the end cover the rest; we did not create a Meta-Chart account. From our own data: of 13,058 charts downloaded from our maker between January 29 and August 18, 2026, 1,653 (12.7%) were SVG files, a format Meta-Chart's Export menu doesn't offer (method).
Meta-Chart facts read on its own pages and page code on September 29, 2026. Ours from our code the same day.

| Ads on the page | None | Yes: a Raptive ad script and four Google ad slots (source) |

| Pull a slice out (exploded) | Yes: pick one slice or all, 4 to 40 pixels, on the exploded pie chart page; PNG, JPEG and PDF keep the gap | No setting; clicking a slice slides it out a fixed 10 pixels, and going by its code the download keeps it (source) |

Switch if you want no ads, SVG or donut charts, control over which slices pull out, or a credit line you can pay once to remove.
Meta-Chart's pie chart page loads a Raptive ad script and four Google ad slots, and its privacy page names Raptive and Google as ad partners. Our pages load no ad scripts.
Meta-Chart exports PNG, JPEG and PDF. We add SVG, which scales to any size, and a donut option. SVG made up 12.7% of the 13,058 charts downloaded from our maker between January 29 and August 18, 2026.
Our exploded pie chart page pulls out one slice or all of them, at a distance you set from 4 to 40 pixels, and PNG, JPEG and PDF downloads keep the gap (SVG downloads are flat). Meta-Chart has no setting for this: clicking a slice in its preview slides it out a fixed 10 pixels, and going by its chart code the download keeps it.
Both tools put a small credit on free downloads. Ours goes away when you pay $7.99 once for Pro, which also adds transparent backgrounds and 2x downloads. Pro is saved in the browser you buy it in, and the email you paid with turns it on in another browser. Meta-Chart's public pages show no price for removing its label.
Pick Meta-Chart if you need chart types beyond pie, donut, bar and line, a 3D tilt in the downloaded file, saved charts with PIN-locked links, or more styling settings.
Meta-Chart makes 12 kinds of chart, including Venn diagrams, scatter plots, histograms, box and whisker plots and tally charts. We make four: pie, donut, bar and line.
Meta-Chart's 3D option is drawn into the chart itself, so going by its chart code, downloads keep the tilt. Our 3D switch only tilts the chart on screen; the file you download is flat.
With a free Meta-Chart account, charts save to a dashboard with folders, and a shared chart can be locked with a PIN. We keep your chart history in your browser only.
Meta-Chart offers gradient slice colors, eight themes, 11 fonts, a sort order and six label formats. We offer a default palette plus 20 more for an email address, a color per slice, and percent, value or name labels.
Type or paste your numbers, then download PNG, JPEG, SVG or PDF.
