Build a pie chart directly in Google Sheets — or skip the spreadsheet and use our instant chart generator instead.
Create a new Google Sheets spreadsheet or open an existing one. Enter your category labels in column A and their corresponding numeric values in column B. For example, put 'Organic Search' in A1 and '42' in B1.
Click and drag to highlight all the cells containing your category labels and values. Make sure you include every row you want represented as a slice in the pie chart, but do not select blank rows.
Go to Insert > Chart in the top menu. Google Sheets will automatically suggest a chart type. If it does not default to a pie chart, open the Chart Editor sidebar and change the Chart type to 'Pie chart' under the Setup tab.
Switch to the Customize tab in the Chart Editor to change colors, add a title, adjust the legend position, and toggle slice labels. You can show percentages, values, or both on each slice.
Click the three-dot menu on the chart to download it as PNG or PDF, or publish it to the web. If you need faster results without setting up a spreadsheet, try our free pie chart generator — just enter your data and export instantly.
