PowerPoint for the web needs a Microsoft account, and desktop PowerPoint needs Microsoft 365 (Personal is $9.99 a month) or Office Home 2024 ($179.99 once), US prices checked September 29, 2026. Ours needs neither.
Download the chart once as a PNG and insert the same file into PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote.
Desktop PowerPoint saves a chart as SVG through Save as Picture, but Microsoft doesn't list that for the web version. Ours downloads SVG from any browser.
PowerPoint wins when the chart must stay editable on the slide, needs a pie of pie or bar of pie, or must carry no credit line.
A chart you insert in PowerPoint (Insert > Chart > Pie) stays a chart you can edit on the slide. Ours goes onto the slide as an image, so a change means a new download.
PowerPoint makes pie of pie and bar of pie charts, and its 3-D pie is part of the chart. Our 3D switch only tilts the chart on screen; the download is flat.
Microsoft's help doesn't mention any mark on saved charts. Our free downloads carry a small credit line until you buy Pro ($7.99 once).
Office 365 A1, with PowerPoint for the web, is free for students and teachers with an eligible school email address.
