Classroom use changes the checks: no account for students, nothing that sends a child to an ad, and a way to print or download. NCES Create a Graph and Pie Chart Generator are the two that meet all three on the pages we read.
By Ryan Doyle, who built Pie Chart Generator
We make Pie Chart Generator, one of the five tools. How we compared: before scoring we chose four classroom checks, then on October 6, 2026 read each tool's own pages and scored all five the same way, ours included. Anything a tool's pages do not say scores zero. Where tools tie, ours goes last. We did not test with students; we are a one-person site and the readers who reach us are mostly teachers and students, which is why these checks.
Make your own chart, freeOne point each.
| Check | Point given when |
|---|---|
| No account | Students can make a chart with no sign-in |
| No ads | No ad network script appears in the tool page's code |
| Print or download | A finished graph can be printed or downloaded free |
| Starts simple | The tool opens straight on a pie or circle graph, with labels and values to fill in |
We did not score accuracy of charts or accessibility, which we did not test.

A tool can change at any time. Check the page before you plan a lesson around it.
Where each fits in a classroom.
Run by the U.S. National Center for Education Statistics. You pick Bar, Line, Area, Pie or XY, fill in labels and data sets, and print or download. It can email you a link to a saved project. It looks dated, and values must be numbers only.
Create a Graph, read October 6, 2026
A plain page: type a title, add a row per slice with a label, a value and a color, click Graph Data, then Save as Image. Work auto-saves in the browser so students can come back after closing a tab. It exports an image only.
Pie Chart Maker, read October 6, 2026
Opens with sample data, so students edit rather than start blank, and downloads PNG, JPEG, SVG or PDF. Free files carry a small credit line, which matters if a grade depends on a clean page; $7.99 once removes it. A circle graph maker page and an all about me pie chart page match common assignments.
Pricing, our code, read October 6, 2026
Free PNG with no signup and no watermark, and we found no ad scripts. The home page is a hub of 120 makers, so students must find the pie chart first.
GraphMake, read October 6, 2026
No account, no watermark and nine export formats, but Google AdSense scripts load on its pages and its 100+ chart types are a lot for a first graph.

Use the interactive editor below to create your own pie chart. Customize colors and labels, then download PNG, JPEG, SVG or PDF.
